Pete Scalia

A graduate of Ohio University, News 5 Traffic Reporter Pete Scalia began his broadcasting career as a production assistant at WLWT-TV, eventually transitioning to radio as morning show producer and on-air talent for WRRM-FM.

He has also worked as stadium producer for the Cincinnati Bengals Radio Network as well as a producer and board operator for Clear Channel Radio.

A Cincinnati native, Pete is also an accomplished professional musician and vocalist. He has toured nationally with the critically acclaimed funk band Freekbass, produced by the legendary Bootsy Collins, and with Chicago guitarist T.D. Clark as the opening act on Ted Nugent and Bad Company’s 1996 national tour.

He also sings and plays with his father in the local band Snidely Whiplash.

Pete has appeared in and been used as voice talent for many commercial print, video and audio projects, for numerous clients. He is also a big Cincinnati Bengals fan, especially of his little sister, a Ben-Gal cheerleader.

Pete is very excited to introduce the all-new Real-Time Traffic Pulse System, and bring live reports to you every morning during News 5 Today and every afternoon during News 5 at 5 p.m.
