CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati Bengal's rookie standout Odell Thurman has been suspended after violating the NFL's drug policy, according to ProFootballTalk.com.

The Web site said that Thurman, who made a name for himself last year as a starting linebacker, will be suspended for the first four games.

It is not known whether Thurman failed a drug test or did not take the drug test.

Failing to take a drug test is considered to have the same severity as failing and is in violation of the NFL's drug policy

The Bengals chose Virginia linebacker Ahmad Brooks on Thursday to add to the already-deep linebacking crew.

Thurman is another troubled story for the Bengals in recent months.

Recently, the Bengals drafted two players, Florida State University's A.J. Nicholson and University of Southern California's Frostee Rucker, who are facing off-field legal problems. Chris Henry has faced four separate incidents with the law since December.
