Study Finds Combination Provides Faster Pain Relief
LOS ANGELES, Posted 11:35 a.m. August 2, 1999 -- There's another reason to pour yourself a cup of coffee in the morning.
Caffeine apparently improves the effectiveness of aspirin, reported CBS 2 News.
More than 200 people with tonsilitis took part in a recent study. According to the television station, those who took aspirin with caffeine reported faster and more effective relief than those who took aspirin alone.
In a previous study, researchers found that caffeine increases the power of aspirin by about 40 percent.
