ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio -- At a news conference Tuesday afternoon, Marcus Fiesel's foster mother purposely wore the same clothes she wore last week to Julifs Park, saying she hoped the sight would jog somebody's memory.
Fiesel has been missing since last Tuesday, when Liz Carroll said she took him to the park with three other children.
"There was several adults that noticed me in these clothes," Carroll said.
Although no one has come forward to verify or dispute her claim that Fiesel was with her at the park, Carroll said Fiesel ran away from her toward a daycare group that was playing with buckets and shovels.
"The adult was waving and smiling, you know, like, 'I understand,' so I know she saw me (and) she saw Marcus," Carroll said.
A heart condition apparently caused Carroll to pass out for about 10 minutes. When she awoke, paramedics told her that her children were safe, Carroll said, and she was taken to a local hospital for treatment.
Officials didn't learn for nearly an hour that Fiesel was missing, Carroll said.
"I don't know what to expect. I don't know if we'll find him, in what condition we'll find him, if somebody took him in good spirits. ... I'm asking for help," she said.
She also told reporters that she, her husband and their children moved from their Union Township home because they felt unsafe.
"We're missing our son, and by some people, we're being treated like criminals. It's normal, the detectives told us, to to put the parents through the wringer in something like this, and we've cooperated with everything -- every detail, with home searches," Carroll said.
She admitted that detectives told her husband he'd failed a lie-detector test, but Carroll said her husband believes the results were inaccurate.
Carroll also said if someone took the developmentally disabled boy, they should know that he needs medication and was supposed to have an MRI on Thursday.
