CINCINNATI -- Cincinnati police are investigating an attempted abduction in the Tower Place parking garage downtown, News 5's Brian Hamrick reported.A woman told police she was attacked on the 10th floor of the garage just before 7:30 a.m. Monday. She was stunned as she talked to a 911 dispatcher.
Woman: "He has a kitchen knife on him -- a big, long chef's knife."

A man wearing a Ken Griffey Jr. jersey cornered the woman in an elevator and tried to pull her into a stairwell. As she fought him off, he tried to stab her, but she escaped and screamed for help.Woman: "He tried to attack me with a knife and pull me into the stairwell. He kept telling me to go into the stairwell and I wouldn't go."The woman ran and sought help from a man who was parking his truck on the roof of the garage. He called 911."She come out waving her hands and (was) hysterical, screaming, 'I'm being attacked. I'm being attacked. Help me,'" said Ray Brown, a witness. "She tried to give him her money. He didn't want anything. He was going to try to rape her in the stairwell."Dispatcher: "Are you hurt?"Woman: "No, I'm not hurt. He just kept telling me he was going to kill me if I didn't go in the stairwell. I kept trying to give him my purse and that's when I saw this guy's truck and I just started to scream and ran."The woman was not injured and the attacker escaped in the elevator.News 5 discovered there were no security cameras in the garage.Police said the suspect was described as a black man, 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall.He was wearing a black skull cap, a red jersey with "Griffey" printed on the back, green sweatpants and green sneakers.Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at (513) 352-3040.
