A 16-year-old boy was critically injured when he lost control of his vehicle Wednesday evening.

Police said Jacob Reed, of Sommerville, was driving a 1997 Chevy Cavalier on state Route 503 when he lost control. The car veered off the right side of the road, struck a pole and rolled several times before landing in a ditch.

Reed was ejected from the vehicle and thrown across the road. He ended up in a ditch on the left side of the road.

He was taken to Miami Valley Medical Center, where he is listed in critical condition.
