MAINEVILLE, Ohio -- A Maineville man was ordered to be monitored by a GPS tracking device as part of his sentence for stalking his wife after she informed him that she intended to file for divorce.Danny Ray Clark, 35, pleaded guilty to menacing by stalking after he threatened his wife's life. Officials said Clark has already served 48 days in jail on the charge. A judge ordered that Clark be released under the supervision of the probation department once the GPS tracking device was installed.
Police said Clark told her she was going to "die a slow, painful death" and that her "kids would be better off if (she) was dead."Clark's wife filed a protection order, which he ignored. Despite the court order, records showed Clark made more than 400 phone calls to his wife's cell phone, home and office.Officials said two vehicles were also destroyed in the driveway of the home where Clark's wife was staying. Messages calling his wife a prostitute and threatening her friends were scratched into the cars.Clark also attempted to track his wife by having a camera pointed at her desk at work and hiring a private investigator to follow her. He also planted a GPS tracking device under her car.Clark received a $2,500 fine and was ordered to not have any contact with his wife and to stay 1,000 feet from her home and business. He is also required to complete a batterers intervention program.
