Tanning Salon Owner Allegedly Videotaped Patrons

CINCINNATI -- The owner of a local tanning salon has been arrested for allegedly videotaping his customers.

Few details are available, but WLWT Eyewitness News 5 reported Monday that Mark Huffman (pictured, left) faces four counts of pandering obscenity, and three counts of pandering obscenity with a minor. Huffman owns Maximum Exposure at 9400 Reading Road in Reading.

Police reportedly got a tip Friday that possible illegal activity was taking place at the salon. After officers obtained a search warrant, they went to the office and seized several items, including wireless cameras found inside two of the tanning booths that appeared to be secretly taping patrons, according to a release.

Police also said the cameras transmitted several images to a receiver that was connected to a DVD-recorder in the lobby area of the salon. Several DVDs were found with images from those cameras, the release said.

Several CD-Roms containing pornographic images, some involving minors, also were confiscated, police said.

More charges against Huffman are likely.
