Woman Indicted For Trying To Kill Daughters
Children With Relatives
CINCINNATI -- A Madisonville mother charged with trying to kill her three daughters has been indicted by a Hamilton County Grand Jury on three counts each of Attempted Murder and Child Endangering.
According to Prosecutor Mike Allen, Thurmell Maley put her three daughters down for a nap in their apartment and turned on the gas stove. Mr. Allen said, "Her intention was to kill herself and all three children."
A friend went to the apartment, woke up the oldest daughter and the gas was turned off. No one was harmed.
Maley was taken to University Hospital for psychiatric evaluation. The children ages 6, 7, and 14, are staying with relatives under Children's Services supervision.
If convicted, Maley faces a maximum possible penalty of 39 years in prison.
