Billy Graham Arrives In Cincinnati

CINCINNATI -- The Rev. Billy Graham arrived in the Tri-State over the weekend to take part in the preparations for his mission, which begins Thursday.

Graham arrived Saturday and took a tour of Cincinnati, WLWT Eyewitness News 5 reported.

On Sunday, Graham addressed the 200 general committee members who helped to organize the mission. He spoke for about 10 minutes and provided a preview of what will happen this week.

Former Cincinnati Bengal Anthony Munoz said that he was thrilled to see Graham in person.

"I'm really excited about this area, and what's going to happen here not only for the four days coming up, but what's happened the last ten, 11 months, and then for years to come," Munoz said.

Graham also took part unexpectedly in a giveaway in which children handed out soft drinks with inspirational messages attached to drivers stopped at traffic lights.

A. Larry Ross, a spokesman for Graham, said that the teens were shocked when they approached a car and the reverend rolled down the window.

"He was really blessed by the enthusiasm of the young people that approached him," Ross said.

Events associated with Graham's mission begin Thursday at Paul Brown Stadium. The mission is free and open to the public.
