Las Vegas, NV -- (Sports Network) - Jodie Meeks poured in a game-high 37 points, as the Kentucky Wildcats held off the Kansas State Wildcats for a 74-72 victory in the semifinal round of the Las Vegas Invitational at Orleans Arena. Meeks hit 11-of-17 shots from the floor and 11-of-13 at the foul line for Kentucky (3-2), which moves on to face West Virginia in the finals on Saturday. Patrick Patterson recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds, while Ramon Harris chipped in with 12 points. Jacob Pullen led the charge for Kansas State (5-1) with 20 points and five steals. Dominique Sutton turned in 15 points and six boards and Darren Kent had 12 points and six rebounds. Denis Clemente tallied 11 points for Kansas State, which fell to 0-8 all-time against Kentucky. Meeks scored 24 points in the first half alone, helping Kentucky take a 37-23 lead to the break. Kansas State rallied behind a 22-7 run in the second half and Sutton had a chance to the tie game on a three-pointer, but he turned the ball over with six seconds left. Meeks than sealed the game with a pair of free throws in the two-point win for Kentucky. Kentucky shot an unconscious 68.8 percent from the floor in the game and that helped compensate for its whopping 31 turnovers.
